Boyd is an experienced investor and capital advisor having invested in and/or advised on more than 150 projects in companies and projects in multiple industries over nearly four decades.

 

Previous to Speedwell, he was a venture partner in a boutique private equity firm, a senior director of a multi-billion dollar capital markets group, a managing director of an investment banking firm, and a partner in an international corporate development firm.  He has been a founding member/investor of several companies and has served as a senior executive of companies on three continents.

He previously served as a Board Member of the Ecuador/American Chamber of Commerce, was an advisor to the Bolivian Secretary to the UN, creating cross border entrepreneurial opportunities in that country and was privileged to participate in some of the East/West German reunification process following the fall of communism.

 

Boyd received his BBA in investment finance through the University of Texas system, earned a Masters in International Business and received an MBA from the University of Houston. He has served on multiple Boards of Directors and advisory boards and has served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence of a middle-market private equity firm.

 

He is an AM&AA member and is a Certified Mergers & Acquisitions Advisor. He currently holds a Texas real estate license and has previously held multiple securities licenses as well as a property & casualty insurance license.

A former runner, he remains passionate about hiking and traveling to unique destinations and experiencing other cultures.
